PPB Series – Industrial Grade, Portable Pressure, Abrasive Blasting System
The PPB Series is an economical, Industrial Portable Sandblaster Blasting System designed for industrial applications of all kinds. These systems can be used with a wide variety of dry abrasive blast media and are engineered for ease of use and portability.
BRP – Blast Room Package | Abrasive Blast Rooms for Large-Part Surface Preparation
Abrasive Blast Rooms provide a controlled area for blasting large parts, structures, and surfaces that may not fit inside a conventional blast cabinet. The BRP Series is designed as an economical way to convert an existing area into a quasi-blast room while providing pressure blasting, abrasive recovery, separation, and dust collection in one package.
The BRP Series combines a high-capacity pressure pot with a sweep-in media recovery system, abrasive separator, and dust collector. This configuration allows used abrasive media to be collected from the work area, cleaned, and returned for reuse. For applications that require a Blast Room System without the cost and footprint of a fully constructed room, the BRP package provides an alternative approach.
Blast Room Package for Industrial Surface Preparation
Abrasive Blast Rooms are useful when large or heavy parts need to be processed and moving the workpiece into a fixed cabinet is impractical. The operator can perform blasting within an existing enclosed area while the recovery equipment collects spent media, debris, and dust. The recovered abrasive can then be separated and prepared for another blasting cycle.
The BRP Series uses direct-pressure blasting to provide an efficient abrasive stream for surface preparation, paint stripping, scale removal, and peening. A Blast Room System can be particularly useful when the application requires reusable abrasive media because the recovery and separation equipment helps return usable media to the pressure pot.
For facilities handling large components, a blast room can provide the working area needed for parts that exceed conventional cabinet dimensions. The BRP Series is designed to support this type of operation while keeping the recovery process integrated with the blasting equipment.
Abrasive Recovery and Media Recycling
One of the main functions of the BRP Series is abrasive recovery. During operation, the operator sweeps used abrasive from the floor into the feed hopper. The material is conveyed to the abrasive separator, where debris and dust are removed before usable media is returned to storage for reuse.
This recovery process makes Abrasive Blast Rooms suitable for applications where reusable media such as aluminum oxide, steel shot, plastic abrasives, glass beads, pumice, or other compatible media may be selected. Media recycling can reduce the amount of new abrasive required over repeated blasting cycles and can help control operating costs.
The recovery equipment is an important part of a complete Blast Room System because simply collecting used abrasive is not enough when the media contains dust, dirt, paint chips, or other debris. The separator helps clean the recovered material before it is returned to the blasting process.
Blast Room System for Large Parts
A blast room is commonly considered when the workpiece is too large, heavy, or difficult to move into a standard blast cabinet. Applications can include industrial equipment, fabricated components, large metal parts, and surfaces requiring coating preparation or paint removal.
Abrasive Blast Rooms can also be useful when the same area needs to support different blasting jobs. The BRP Series can work with nearly all types of dry abrasive blasting media, giving operators flexibility when choosing media according to the substrate, coating, and required surface profile.
Kramer Industries designed the BRP Series as an industrial-grade package that combines pressure blasting and abrasive recovery. The system includes a high-capacity ASME pressure pot, media collection and cleaning equipment, and a dust collector. Optional equipment includes a dust drum package, air-fed helmet, air-line filter, and air hose.
Sand Blast Rooms and Operator Support
Sand blast rooms and other enclosed blasting areas require appropriate containment, ventilation, dust collection, and operator protection for the specific application. The BRP package includes a cartridge dust collector designed for continuous-duty blasting operations, while optional operator equipment can provide an air supply and additional protection.
The BRP system is not limited to one type of blasting media. Depending on the application, operators can select suitable dry abrasive media for cleaning, coating removal, surface preparation, or peening. This flexibility makes Abrasive Blast Rooms useful across industrial maintenance and surface-finishing operations.
Sand blast rooms can be planned around the part size and recovery requirements. When planning a Blast Room System, users should consider part size, abrasive type, recovery requirements, dust collection, available space, compressed air, operator protection, and the frequency of blasting. These factors help determine whether an integrated blast room package is appropriate for the application.
Kramer Industries provides the BRP Series as a packaged solution for facilities that need pressure blasting and abrasive recovery without constructing a complete dedicated blast room. The system is designed to convert an existing area into a quasi-blast room and provides the major equipment needed for blasting, recovery, separation, and dust collection.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q1. What are the OSHA standards for abrasive blasting?
OSHA requirements for abrasive blasting can cover areas such as worker protection, respiratory protection, ventilation, exposure control, protective clothing, and equipment safety. The specific requirements depend on the blasting operation, abrasive media, work environment, and applicable OSHA regulations. Users should review current OSHA requirements for their specific operation.
Q2. What is abrasive blasting?
Abrasive blasting is a surface-treatment process in which abrasive media is propelled against a surface to remove coatings, rust, scale, contaminants, or other unwanted material. The process can also be used to prepare a surface for a subsequent coating or create a desired surface profile.
Q3. What is an abrasive blast cabinet?
An abrasive blast cabinet is an enclosed blasting machine used to contain abrasive media and the material being removed from a workpiece. Blast cabinets are generally suited to parts that fit within the cabinet, while a blast room setup can accommodate larger or heavier workpieces that are difficult to process in a cabinet.
